Introducing Floating Porch, a four-sided meditation pavilion at UC San Diego’s Theatre District Living and Learning Neighborhood.
We are thrilled that Floating Porch is featured in the U.S. Pavilion at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, as part of PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity.
This open-air retreat reimagines the American porch as a place for reflection, connection, and community. Designed as part of a 2,000-bed student housing neighborhood, the pavilion offers a restorative and inclusive experience that softens the line between architecture and nature.
UC San Diego Theatre District was designed in collaboration with Kitchell, HKS Architects, EYRC Architects, and SWA Group. You can see the dynamic exhibition from May 10th to November 23rd 2025.
