TWO DAYS OF EVENTS FOCUSED AROUND EQUITY ARE REFLECTIVE OF THE FIRM'S COMMITMENT TO THIS ISSUE.

JUSTINE CLARK SHARES HER THOUGHTS WITH EYRC

Justine Clark, author of the Parlour Guides to Equitable Practice, flew all the way from Australia to attend AIA's Powerful Conference and paid a special visit to EYRC offices for an intimate lunch discussion on October 19th. Justine spent time talking about how she started the Parlour Guides and her thinking behind this project. EYRC staff discussed topics like long working hours and pay equity with Justine in an open, informal dialogue.

The following day, October 20th, Partner Patricia Rhee was one of the key leaders in planning and facilitating AIA Los Angeles' Powerful Women in Design conference in her role as chair of the AIA Women in Architecture Committee, Los Angeles.

To kick off the day Justine shared her work on creating equity in architectural practices and how she has helped "put the profession on notice." Back-to-back presentations throughout the day revolved around everything ranging from families to sexual harassment to inspirational architecture projects.

Patricia also facilitated a panel discussion among Justine Clark, Rachell Morris from ZGF and Lise Bornstein from KFA to discuss how firms of varying sizes are promoting equity in their businesses.

Partner Mathew Chaney led a roundtable discussion during the lunch hour on negotiation strategies. Over 150 people in the AEC industry attended the sold-out conference.
