This 300,000 sf expansion reimagines the warehouse not just as a space for logistics, but as a workplace that values comfort, community, and connection. Designed to unify operations and support future growth, the addition enhances efficiency while elevating the daily experience for hundreds of employees.
At its heart is an 800-foot-long pedestrian corridor known as “Main Street,” a raised walkway punctuated by skylights, bamboo gardens, and lounge spaces. This spine links two new entry nodes that serve as dedicated employee break areas—an investment in wellness for physically demanding work.
Sustainability and simplicity shape the material palette and site strategy. Tilt-up concrete walls rise 40 feet high, enclosing a durable industrial volume softened by rusted Cor-Ten steel, translucent channel glass, and textured concrete block. The 52-acre site is framed by drought-tolerant landscaping, bioswaled parking areas, and a walking path that circles the campus.
Bringing daylight deep into work zones and replacing HVAC with passive ventilation, the design transforms a high-volume facility into a place people want to be.
The challenge is balancing specific functions… with what it takes to produce a spiritual environment.
