UC San Diego Ridge Walk North Living and Learning Neighborhood

This $537M mixed-use 972,000-sf neighborhood will provide both the residents of Thurgood Marshall College as well as faculty, staff and UC San Diego students endless opportunities to explore, discover and connect.

Three new residence towers will provide beds for over 2,400 Marshall College students. The project also includes an Economics Building, administration and community programs including a Basic Needs Center and Goody's Cafe + Market.

Revitalized nodes and plazas along key thoroughfares to the Historic Grove and Geisel Library help strengthen the greater UC San Diego campus.

Flexible indoor and outdoor gathering areas embrace the site’s unique location as a nexus between north, west and central parts of campus.

The student-centric design incorporates a range of private, semi-private and public spaces, balancing opportunities for collaborative living and learning with a comfortable individual residential experiences.

Roof terraces on each residential hall offer expansive ocean views; smaller front porches and interspersed interior nooks provide additional space for exchange and gathering.

Using durable materials and high-performance strategies to enhance views and daylight, the project is targeting LEED Gold certification and incorporates all-electric design throughout the majority of the project.
